The Estelusti Foundation would like to put a human face on our Indian
Territory Freedmen ancestors. As a
descendant who may have possession of such treasures you can become part
of an ongoing effort to document our "Ancestors Beyond Words" that
bring them to life and demonstrate our presence in Indian Territory and among
the so called Five Civilized Tribes of Southeastern Indians.
Please submit a copy of a family photograph for the collection and let us build a repository of images that reflect the diversity of Indian Territory that has been missing from history books. By doing this one act, we will contribute to the history of this country that has been regrettably overlooked.
Submit your photos to estelusti@aol.com and include brief information including the person(s), place, approximate year when photo was taken, year/place of birth if known, and the submitter's e-mail address. Acceptable formats for pictures include JPG/JPEG, GIF, or BMP.
Your submission should be at least 3X5 so they will reproduced with the highest quality image possible.
