OBITUARY

Katie Shannon was born to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Shannon in Indian Territory on November 24, 1896. She attended public school at St. John in Newport , Oklahoma . Joined the Mount Olive Baptist Church at an early age.

She was married to William Lamey at Tishomingo , Oklahoma .

Katie Shannon taught school at St. John and in Filmore , Okla. for a number of years. She lived in Oklahoma City , later moving to Phoenix , Arizona , and living there until returning home in 1951.

She leaves to mourn her loss four brothers, Lonnie and Frocell of Los Angeles , California ; Roosevelt of Las Vegas; and Jack of Ardmore. Five sisters, Mary Hill and Adella Gaines, Los Angeles; Prudence Byers, Bristow; Ella Gaines and Neola Williams of Ardmore; and a host of nieces and nephews.
