“My families on all sides are deeply rooted in the Choctaw experience in
early American history. These family
members, whose surnames include (Baty,
Wilburn, McGuire, Stevenson, Gray, Dick, Colbert, Crawford, Austin, Bruner,
Dawson, Shoeboot), were farmers, miners, railroad workers, cowboys, traders,
preachers, teachers, ranchers, and soldiers, whose lives and work helped build
and shape the American West.”
“It is my goal to develop an educational curriculum to train young
people to research and document their family’s history which will help to
strengthen our future families, communities, and leaders.”
My areas of interest are Dawes Rolls, Documenting Transcriptions, Census
records, and Legal Cases involving Choctaw and Chickasaw Freedmen.
