ENSLAVER-Reynolds

Reynolds, Lemuel Montgomery- Chickasaw, arrived in the Indian Territory in 1844 and was listed on the 1847 tribal census. His family then consisted of four persons. He then owned seven slaves.He filed a claim as a self—emigrating Chickasaw In June, 1848 (1). He was listed on the 1857—1860 annuity rolls and was lieutenant colonel In the First Chickasaw Regiment, CSA, during the Civil War 2).
1)Chickasaw Emigration. OIA, roll 144, frame 482. (2)THE WAR OF THE RE8ELLION. Who he was is not clear, though he was probably a son of F.M. Reynolds. The annuity rolls show both a Lemuel and a Lemuel N. Reynolds.
