Susie A. Moore
Susie A. Moore was born in Stonewall,
Susie is employed with Seagate Technology as a computer
operator.
She is the mother of five children, three girls and two
boys, and the proud grandmother of six and one half grandchildren.
“I have been doing research for about 5 years. My
ancestors are from the Creek, Chickasaw, Choctaw, and some Seminoles. My main
reason for research in to piece my family history together. I would like to some
day putting it in book form for my brothers and sisters, and their families, and
my children.”
“I never knew my maternal or fraternal grandparents and
that made me want to do it all the more, too feel closer to them. Since they
could not tell their story I want to tell it for them. I am driven by the need
to know.”
Susie is another individual who recognizes the importance
of preserving family history and sharing that history with other members of the
family. She has offered to give of herself for the benefit of others which is a
gift that will become part of the legacy of the Choctaw and Chickasaw Freedmen.
Like the other members of the Choctaw-Chickasaw Freedmen Project© Susie has found her passion in acquiring knowledge and accepting the responsibility to pass that knowledge to future generations. She exemplifies the nature of all of us who have dedicated our lives to preserving the history and genealogy of the Choctaw and Chickasaw Freedmen.
