Congressional Testimony            

The following is a brief excerpt from the Congressional Record concerning the testimony of Wirt Franklin. Franklin was employed as a stenographer and later a law clerk with the responsibility of rendering judgments concerning citizenship in the Choctaw-Chickasaw Enrollment Division.

After resigning his position with the Dawes Commission, Wirt Franklin as many other former employees of the Dawes Commission became active in representing people with citizenship claims. 

Wirt Franklin later became wealthy by discovering one of the most prolific oil discoveries in Oklahoma.
